Prickles the Hedgehog

10th November 2015 By donnalee

hedgehogLast week, Class 4 saw a hedgehog on our school yard. We knew that this meant the hedgehog was probably poorly as they are nocturnal animals. We put it in a box and kept it warm and rang the National Hedgehog Preservation Society. They gave us a number for a lovely lady called Dawn who came and picked up the hedgehog. She is going to care for it over the Winter as it needed food, warmth and had some ticks that needed removing. Dawn is going to bring Prickles back in Spring to her habitat at school.

Class 4 Sleepover

10th November 2015 By donnalee

UNCRC Article 27
Every child has the right to a standard of living

UNCRC Article 24
Every child has the right to best possible health

Class 4 have been learning about shelters in design technolgy and homeless in PSHCE/UNCRC. We discussed how all children in the world should have a shelter like ourselves but unfortunately there are some children who don’t. We decided that this was important to us and we wanted to raise awareness and money for the charity CRISIS, who help homeless people. We are going to have a school sleepover at school, build shelters, have a soup kitchen and see what it is like to be homeless.
Taylor Shaw are kindly donating to us soup and homemade biscuits.
