Paws Up

18th February 2015 By Admin Linda

The Paws Up Police and our donation cheque.

As part of our Pupil Improvement Plan, Green Team and Devin wanted to donate some of the money that we raised to a charity called Paws Up, which is for retired police dogs.

The police came to collect £20 donated from the Rights Respecting Council Funds with two of their dogs Louie and Lilly.  Many Thanks for your continuous help in raising money for charities.

Speaker School Award 2015

18th February 2015 By Admin Linda

Speaker School Award – we made a difference!

We are thrilled to receive this latest award which applauds the way our children work hard to make a difference to school and the community.  Class 1 were nominated by Jamie Ivory (Our Rights Respecting Council Chair) for the House of Commons Speaker Council Award make a difference competition, for their work in asking the council for new road markings outside of school in order to make the road safer and slow down traffic. Unfortunately we did not come first but were successful in gaining this badge to use on our website along with a lovely certificate and letter from the Speaker John Bercow.

Sharing a story!

In class 1 we enjoyed our stay and play on 6th February. We had so much fun showing our adults around our classroom and showing off all the hard work we have completed this half term. We also showed off our production of Jack and the Beanstalk. Thanks to Sammi from Northumbria University for helping us! Thanks for coming!

Katy sharing her shirts with class 1 children!

England Women’s Rugby captain Katy Mclean visited us in school today. She delivered a whole school assembly on perseverance and determination and told us about her experience of having to try really hard to win the World Cup in 2014. She also did a practical team games workshop with our MAG&T PE children, SSOC’s and Sports leaders/playground buddies.

She rounded off the day with a rugby workshop with Class 1. We all learnt a lot and had fun!
