I have been a governor since 2001 and was Vice Chair of Governors under Mrs Sonia Duncan. I am a retired French teacher who has worked in Secondary schools in County Durham all of my working life.
I lived in Kimblesworth with my husband, Gordon, for 27 years before moving to Lanchester 5 years ago. Our younger daughter, Helen, attended Nettlesworth School so I have known the school for a long time and I am excited to be part of such a caring and successful organisation.
My current roles within the Governing body are:
Chair of Governors with responsibility for chairing Full Governing Body meetings
Curriculum and Standards Committee which has responsibility for and oversight of attainment across school and the delivery of the curriculum.
First/Pay Review Committee which deals with issues personnel procedures relating to staff an works closely with the Finance committee on issues around staff salaries
Headteacher Performance Management Committee which has responsibility for overseeing the performance of the head teacher on an annual basis. This includes working with a local authority representative to set annual targets and review progress towards these targets.
