On 15th November 2017, Miss Grant led a whole school workshop focused on Anti-Bullying Week which took place from 13th – 17th November. Co-ordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, this year’s theme, ‘All Different, All Equal,’ encourages us to celebrate, rather than hide, our individuality and uniqueness. Miss Grant read out some rather shocking facts to highlight how often bullying takes place and, in turn, what we can do to stop these things from happening.
As an example of how bullying can affect us in different ways, Miss Grant had 2 apples (one which had been dropped and bruised inside and the other which had not) and when she cut them both in half the children began thinking of how people can be bullied in many different ways and it can not always be seen.
Speaking from her own personal experiences, Miss Grant asked us to reflect on our own behaviour and how we can make a positive contribution to stop bullying.
Red team thought of an excellent idea of wearing ‘Odd Socks’ for school to celebrate everything that makes us all different BUT equal!
