Big thank you to all of the parents and children who joined in with our Christmas Jumper Day 2018. We raised almost £60 from your donations; all which will be donated to the St. Cuthbert’s Hospice. To top the festive cheer we all had a wonderful lunch thanks to Leanne in the kitchen! 🙂
Santa has BEEN IN OUR SCHOOL! On Wednesday we came in to discover that each and every child had received a Santa’s letter and there was mysterious glitter footprints all around the classrooms – we believe the trail began from Class 1 where the window has been left open and footprints started from the window sill!!!
HO HO HO! Merry Chrsitmas 🙂
Today we had our annual Christingle service held at our local church, it was great to see so many of you there! The children had incorporated songs from both KS1 and KS2 performances and some traditional songs sending out the Christmas message at this time of year.
We even created a human-sized Christingle in the shape of Rev.Caroline to celebrate 50 years of Christingle services all aroundt he world; in aid of ‘THE Children’s Society’ .
Such a magical end to a magical half term here at Nettlesworth! 🙂
Hooray for Prickly Hay!
Class 1 and 2 have worked extremely hard over the past 3 weeks, practising their Christmas Performance. We have finally performed to the whole school and our parents and put on a howdown you’ll never forget!
MERRY CHRISTMAS 🙂
The Headteacher’s Award recognises good work and behaviour, positive attitudes to learning, kindness and consideration towards others and improvements in all areas of learning. Class teachers choose children to be presented with the award in our ‘Celebration Assembly’.
Congratulations to Connie Hadwin(1), Harrison Hindmarch(2), Peyton Rutherford(3) and Elliott O’Roarty(4). They have been chosen for demonstrating creativity and persistence in their learning across the whole curriculum. Well done! 🙂
Well done to our little superstar, Erica, in class 1! She has just passed her swimming level – Keep up the fantastic work 🙂
Today as a Christmas treat we had a Pantomime in the comfort of our own school! It was absolutely fantastic – thank you to the actors at Big Foot Entertainment who provided us with an afternoon of cheer, as well as the Nettlesworth School Community Group (NSCG) for organising it! 🙂
Huge thank you to Paul from SPLAT who has worked with us over the past couple of days providing us with a wonderful day full of circus skills on Monday and then a SPAG day on Tuesday.
These opportunities have not only increased our sporting/movement skills, especially balancing, throwing and catching but they have also provided us with a lot of important speaking and listening skills through performing in front of an audience short acts all about the things we have been learning about SPAG (Spelling, punctuation & Grammar).
Each class had differentiated activities to take part in and then at the end we put all of our SPAGTASTIC work together and performed in front of the whole school! We also had bundles of fun along the way! 🙂
Over the past couple of weeks, Papi & Claire (our governors and members of the parent group) has been working with the children in classes to make Christmas wreaths that they have chosen to order. They are absolutely fantastic and will hang beautiful on the doors of Nettlesworth and the wider community!
Thank you!!!! 🙂
