We are proud to announce that this is our second year we have been awarded the Sainsburys Games Gold award. Emma from the Durham and Chester-le-Street Sports Partnership came and presented us with our award this morning.
Well done to our recent sports leaders who have completed their training and are now part of the Sports Leader Team.
Eryna, Devin and Ana swim for Chester-le-Street Swimming Club. On Friday they swam in heats to see if they would make the finals yesterday. All three got into the finals. Eryna won a competitors medal, Devin won bronze in breast stroke and Ana won bronze in freestyle. Well done, we are so proud of you!
Crisis did an assembly on the work they do over Christmas. They also collected the £75 raised by Class 4 from our sleepover and were delighted in the work that we did.
Ford has recently done his grading in Hapkido and has been awarded yellow belt. Well done Ford.
Last week, Class 4 saw a hedgehog on our school yard. We knew that this meant the hedgehog was probably poorly as they are nocturnal animals. We put it in a box and kept it warm and rang the National Hedgehog Preservation Society. They gave us a number for a lovely lady called Dawn who came and picked up the hedgehog. She is going to care for it over the Winter as it needed food, warmth and had some ticks that needed removing. Dawn is going to bring Prickles back in Spring to her habitat at school.

Class 4 have been learning about shelters in design technolgy and homeless in PSHCE/UNCRC. We discussed how all children in the world should have a shelter like ourselves but unfortunately there are some children who don’t. We decided that this was important to us and we wanted to raise awareness and money for the charity CRISIS, who help homeless people. We are going to have a school sleepover at school, build shelters, have a soup kitchen and see what it is like to be homeless.
Taylor Shaw are kindly donating to us soup and homemade biscuits.
