Bike Safety Day
On Friday (29.09.17) Jen, Darren and Beth came into school to talk to us all about keeping ourselves safe whilst riding our bike.
They started with a whole school assembly on how to wear your helmet correctly and why it is super important to do us. We all met Mr Melon Head!
Next they worked with class 3 and helped them design helmets to keep eggs safe. Some of the eggs survived the fall from a great height but not all of them!
Later Class 4 took part in a workshop on bike miles. They all got a chance to ride as fast and far as they could in one minute.
Some year 2 children were then able to bring their bikes into school to take part in a skills session. They all worked really well and tried hard.
Finally some year 1 and EYFS children worked with the SSP staff and their parents / carers to take their stabilisers off their bikes. We were so proud of the children for trying this scary task. All children worked well and impressed us.
We had a really good day!
