It was a normal snowy Christmas day, when I looked out of my window. I got ready and went downstairs to breakfast and had some cheese on toast. Then I went out to play on the fell, I was walking to the field where I like to play on most when I heard a rustling sound. I turned round and I saw a reindeer with bright red ribbons and bells all round its body.

"I must take you to the stables where you belong", I whispered.

"No, you mustn’t!" I turned round and looked to see who spoke.

"Who was that?" I said quite astonished.

"It’s me, the reindeer."

"You can talk!" I spluttered loudly.

"Yes," said the reindeer, "I will explain as much as you want later but first I must tell you how I got here."

"Who owns you?" I muttered.

"Santa," he replied.

"Ohhh", I shouted.

What’s wrong?" said the reindeer.

"Nothing," I replied.

"Shall I help you get back to Santa?"

"Please". So that’s when we set off on our journey.

I climbed on to him and asked him his name. "Prancer," he called. I soon got comfortable on his back and we set off over the mountains with the breeze blowing in our faces, it was great. I had never had so much fun in my entire life.

Soon we stopped for a rest, Prancer ate some grass nearby while I just sat there waiting for his breathing gauge to go down. It took quite a while and I was getting thirsty when I realised that there was a stream nearby and I managed to get a drink then.

After I had my drink we were off again over the forests and over the trees. The last time I looked down I saw little mountains of snow here and there. But when I looked down this time it was everywhere, not just on top of mountains but covering them from the top till it came all the way to the bottom.

Then we suddenly came to a stop. I looked up and there in front of me was a massive palace full of candy and toys.

"Santa, elves I’m back home, it’s me Prancer and I’ve got a friend with me." And suddenly out of the dark came a figure with a red cloak on and beside him there were loads of little elves.

"Thank you, you brought Prancer home I was so worried," Santa did look quite worried, "for helping him I shall give you a present," he whispered.

Then he clicked his finger and there came a little elf with a green box and a red ribbon. He stuck the ribbon on me and gave me the present. The ribbon read,

"Thank you very much for helping me." (It was written in gold writing)

"This will help you remember what you did for me and this present will too," he said. But before I could say anything else I was back home next to the warm fire with my ribbon and my present. I opened the present, it was a sculpture of Prancer made with wood. I felt so happy, I felt magic.
