Sports Day for Year 3 at Fyndoune – Daniel, Jaymie-Leigh, Joshua and Helen
We went to Fyndoune for the morning to do sports. We took part in the hurdles, sprinting, handball, long jump, javelin, a form of high jump and chest passing. It was great fun and we completed this task with two children from Sacriston School. Alongside the sports activities we completed mini art tasks which included decorating a medal which would highlight the Commonwealth Games. After all these activities we were more than ready for lunch – which was yummy!! After lunch we played a few more games and then it was time for the presentation. The team leaders, who were all Year 8 students, had been keeping score throughout the morning and this was then given to a member of staff who could see the winners. We all won for getting 60 points. We were really pleased to have been given the chance to take part and we had a great time.
We have had a lovely morning learning the basics of fencing with Premier Sports. We learnt how to salute to show respect and how to lunge and shout “on guard” to scare our opponent. We were chosen to demonstrate how much we had learnt because we had worked really hard.
In September I ran the Mini Great North run which was held in Newcastle. I ran a mile in total and raised £105 for leukemia research which I am proud of. Mr Maker started us all off at the start line – I hi Fived him It was great fun, I ran over the Tyne Bridge. My mam ran the Great North Run on the Sunday and she completed it in 3 hours! We both got medals and we are proud to wear them.
Angus the baby tortoise came into Class 2 to help with Aesop’s Fable , The Hare and the Tortoise. Could it be a relative of Angus that won the race???
We are celebrating the awarded yellow tag and certificate for the art of Taekwondo. Mackenzie has worked really hard to achieve this well done Mackenzie!!
