Hedgehog Rescue

22nd April 2016 By Lee Roberts

Today we had the pleasure of seeing “prickles” the young female hedgehog which we rescued before the winter back in school along with her adopted baby “spikey”  Dawn from the Hedgehog Preservation Society has been caring for them both over the winter and felt they were ready to be released back into their home in the school grounds.  It was lovely to see them both looking so lively and healthy.

DSCF1875DSCF1876Daniel who originally spotted the poorly hedgehog helped Dawn to find a safe place for both prickles and spikey to live together.

Investing in Children Award 2016

22nd April 2016 By Lee Roberts

DSCF1861We are very pleased to announce that we have once again received the Investing In Children Award.  This is an award that is very close to our hearts as it is really all about the children and their views and opinions and what they want to do in their school.  We are very proud of the work they do in school and how hard they work in making their school the best it can be and a fantastic place to learn.  Well done Kids!        DSCF1860

Mini Police

20th April 2016 By donnalee

Craig and Councillor Liddle came to talk to us about joining the Mini Police. They showed us other work what other schools had done, for example, attending royal visits, meetings at police headquarters and attending special events in our area. They also showed us the great police uniform, provided for us to wear at these events.

Poppy’s ballet exam

17th March 2016 By Lee Roberts

We are all very proud of Poppy who took her Primary ballet exam on the 15th March.  She did really well, especially given the fact that she was working with older dancers.

This is what she had to say about it:                                   IMG_20160315_102742My ballet exam was good.  I enjoyed it because I had three friends with me. It was great fun.  My number was two.  I used to wear a pink ballet uniform but now I wear blue. My examiner was called Miss di Mauro and I liked her but my Mam couldn’t come in neither could my ballet teacher Miss Catherine. “It was great!” I had a bun in my hair and a special ballet uniform and my team went second.

Class 4 visit to Beamish

25th February 2016 By donnalee

Class 4 were fabulous detectives in solving the mystery at Pockerley Old Hall, Beamish. The Squire was dead in bed and no one knew why. We had to ask the Physician, the Quack Doctor and the Wise Woman questions and search the house for possible clues as to possible causes of death.
