Home Learning Highlights – Summer 2!

It’s been lovely to receive your samples of work and photographs, they have gone into our class lock down journal. Here is a selection of what you have all been getting up to!

Hello again, it’s summer Term 2!

Our new topic is the science project, Blue Abyss! It looks at the human uses and physical features of the sea. This project develops children’s knowledge of ocean layers, sea exploration, food chains, habitats and pollution.  To investigate you can find out if all sea creatures are the same?  Or find out how pollution affects habitats!

Some books you may enjoy reading are: Treasure Island Robert Louis Stevenson and 20 000 Leagues Under the Sea – Jules Verne.

For DT you could take a look at submarine design. Hope you have lots of fun researching and remember to email me any pieces of work you do, as I ‘d love to see them!

Keep smiling!   🙂

Hello everyone… Miss Milburn here!

We’re in week two now, so just wanted to say a quick hello to make sure you are all ok!  I’m missing you all so much  but know you will be continuing to be the little stars that you are! I hope you’re all being safe and very good for your parents! I can’t wait to hear what you have all been up to.

Keep practising your times tables on Times Table Rockstars.  Make sure you get lots of time to play too! It would be fun to write a diary to look back on and we could even make a time capsule for children to discover in the future to hear all about what life is like for you right now!

If you’d like a research project for our topic 1066, you could research even more about what life was like for village children in Norman times. Or you could watch a reenactment of the Battle of Hastings, then talk about what it might feel like to be in the thick of the action. Reflect on how the soldiers might feel as they prepare to face the fight. Find out about the soldiers, the weapons they used and dangers they faced. Write about the sights, sounds and even the smells that a soldier would have experienced.

Class 3 Home Learning

Joe Wicks has revealed he will be running virtual PE classes to make sure kids are keeping fit from home as schools close for the foreseeable future amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Body Coach, 33, told his followers he would be leading classes kids can do from their homes to make sure they are still getting some exercise. He said on Twitter: ‘Hello everybody, I’m Joe Wicks – The Body Coach and I’ve got an exciting announcement to make. ‘Starting Monday, every single day from Monday to Friday I’m going to do a live workout called PE with Joe on my Youtube Channel, TheBodyCoachTV. ‘It’s a workout specifically designed for kids because when the schools are closed there is no PE. Don’t worry, I’ve got you – I’m going to take this over. ‘I’m going to get your kids moving, feeling energised, positive, optimistic. So, tune in Monday morning 9am and every day Monday to Friday.

It could also be a time to get your very own Blue Peter Badge- see the link for more information!
